Hooked on phones
I’ve been working with startups for a long time, and one of the concepts I’ve taught many of them is the “hooked” model.
My real work is people. In New Zealand I poured myself into the Wellington scene, running Startup Weekends and keeping founders from burning out. Now in Portugal, I’m doing the same in the Algarve — building not just events, but movements. I don’t want followers. I want tape-traders: people who grab ideas, remix them, and pass them forward.

i guess many of us geeks went through the one or other phase in their life when they felt themselves trapped in the system with no way out. "the system" meaning any kind of mental state that prevented a clear view on the situation.
